I absolutely love skin care but it can be an expensive thing to keep up with. There are so many lotions and potions that promise to make you look 50 years younger, like you’ve drunk 3 litres of water and had a facial everyday! I’ve put together a guide on what skin care you could save your money on and what’s best to spend a bit more on, I hope this helps you guys out!
Facial Wash – SAVE!
Facial washes are really important in your skin care routine to help wash away all the dirt and oil that’s built up throughout the day. I enjoy using a foaming facial wash as it is gentle on the skin and doesn’t leave it feeling tight or dry. You can also get creamy cleansers it just all depends on what you like best! I think you can definitely save on this product, you’re essentially just washing it down the drain anyway! There are some great affordable facial washes like Garnier Skin Active Naturals which are only £3.49 or Neutrogena also has some good options for less than £5.00!
Cleansing Water – SAVE!
Cleansing water is a great thing to have on your shelf because it has so many uses! I use it to cleanse my skin, to break up heavy eye make up and if you put it on a cotton bud you can use it to correct any small make up mistakes without having to re-do your make up. You could save on this product because as long as you’re washing your face properly this is really just an extra step in your routine. I use the Simple Kind To Skin Micellar Water which is £6.59 (but is currently on sale for half price in boots) but Garnier and L’Oréal also have a good range for less than £5.00!
Serum – SPEND!
Serum is something you could spend more money on as they have highly concentrated ingredients in them which means they will penetrate and absorb deeper into the skin. I use the Clinique Pore Refining Solutions Correcting Serum which is £39.00. It lasts me a long time as I only use 1 pump morning and night. The best thing to do when buying serum’s is to look into the ingredients and decide what id best for your skin type.
Daily Moisturiser – SAVE!
Your daily moisturiser acts as a barrier to protect your skin from the outside world, so you could definitely save on this product! The best way to keep your skin hydrated is by drinking lots of water every day! I use the Garnier Skin Moisture Match Shine Be Gone which is £4.19. Simple Kind To Skin Replenishing Rich Moisturiser is a good option and it it’s only £4.29!
Eye Cream – SAVE!
It’s important to keep your under eye area hydrated to prevent wrinkles forming as you age but it doesn’t mean you have to spend a fortune or expensive eye creams! As long as it has ingredients like cucumber in it to reduce puffiness, green tea to help with dark circles and cocoa butter to keep them hydrated it doesn’t matter how much it costs! Simple Kind To Eyes Soothing Eye Balm is a great eye cream for only £4.02!
Face Masks – SAVE OR SPEND!
I use a face mask every week and tend to buy the more affordable ones like the Montagne Jeunesse range as they are only £1.00 each and are currently 3 for 2 in boots. I like that I can buy different masks for different skin concerns so I can tailor my routine to how my skin is that week. However if you would prefer to spend a bit more money on face masks you totally can, if you wanted something for a big skin concern like acne or really dry skin, you can spend more money on special ingredients that will give your skin a big boost. Glamglow are a great face mask range and have all different formulas that do different things, the prices range from £14.00 for a smaller jar to £39.00 for a large jar.
I hope this little guide to buying skin care was helpful for you guys and I hope you can save some money! Thank you so much for reading and I’ll see you all next time 🙂
